Biotech Farms donates modern swine experimental facility to University of Southern Mindanao, Kabacan, Cotabato
As part of its commitment in helping the Livestock Industry of the Philippines, Biotech Farms will donate a 60-sow level Experimental Farms equipped with the most modern technologies and facilities in swine farming in the University of Southern Mindanao, Kabacan Cotabato. Two years ago, the President of USM, Dr. Francisco Garcia and the CEO of Biotech Farms Mr Rey Chiang, agreed to set up this project purposely to serve not only as swine production center of USM but as an instructional and experimental facility wherein students, hog raisers, animal nutritionists, and other sectors of the industry can learn, benchmark, and train.
This project is well supported by Asec Enrico Garzon (USM Alumnus) of the Department of Agriculture during the 2nd Alumni Homecoming of College of Veterinary Medicine. He assured that he will extend assistance to this initiative as this will definitely benefit the livestock industry by exposing the veterinary students on the latest practices in swine farming, such that once they graduate, they can take the lead in the improvement of the Philippine Swine Industry.
Construction of this project will commence in the 1st quarter of 2019.
